★ *The Faith that healed*

*Mark 2: 1-12*

_3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them._

_4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on._

_5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”_

...........

...........

_10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man,_

_11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”_

_12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”_

This passage is about the healing of a paralyzed man by Jesus Christ. Was he healed solely because of his faith? No, Jesus healed him upon seeing the faith of his four friends.

It wasn't easy for them to bring him to Christ. They had to carry him all the way, and since they couldn't get him through the door, they had to make an opening in the roof by digging through it. Then they lowered the mat the man was lying on so that their friend could be healed. This required a significant amount of effort, energy, and time. Above all, it required faith. The paralyzed man had faithful friends who demonstrated their faith.

Consider your friends. Do they lead you closer to God or away from Him? Do they make an extra effort to guide you to the true helper?

We should always choose friends who love God and spend time with Him. Remember the saying: "Be friendly with everyone but don't be friends with everyone."

Likewise, we must reflect on whether we are good friends to others. Are we helping them draw nearer to God, or are we spending time with them solely for worldly pleasures?

Jesus also forgave the paralyzed man's sins. While we have treatments for physical illnesses, the spiritual ailment, i.e, sin, can only be healed by the blood of Jesus Christ. God sent Him to die on the cross for our sins. By confessing our sins, believing in His sacrifice, and accepting Him as our personal Lord and savior, we can find salvation.

If you haven't received this spiritual healing from sin, may God guide you to make that decision today.

*Take away:*

¶ Be a good friend to others, leading them closer to God. Choose friends who won't take you away from God.

¶ Turn to Jesus Christ for salvation. May God help us to seek Him for both physical and spiritual healing.
